The nursery is finally set up!!!! I say "finally" as in I've been waiting forever for this thing (17 whole weeks!) In reality, people probably think we're crazy for getting it set up so soon. But, I'm halfway through baking this baby and I'm finally getting my energy back :) So in my eyes, right now is the perfect time to get started on this little boys nursery. My sister Amy and our brother-in-law Mark gave us the set. We are so excited about it! It's an all black crib and changing table. The crib transitions into a toddler bed so he'll be able to use it for a while :)

My sweet father-in-law and brother-in-law, Scott, were able to come and help us get everything set up. I always imagined this moment. I envisioned seeing my husband working on the crib all night long to get it finished and put together. Parts would be spread out all over the floor, maybe an occasional curse word in frustration of putting the crib together, and I would be standing around giving orders. It ended up being far from that. In fact, with the three of them working on it together, they were able to get it all set up pretty quickly :) And instead of me bossing my husband around, I got to sit back-watch- and take some pictures :) Life throws you curve balls, right? Even Oscy got to join in on the fun. He's not a fan of pictures but I made him jump in this one anyway.
Look how cute Mr. Nealson is? :) He's "over-seeing" the workers.
Please don't mind my sticks. I've had them forever and promised Neal that I would use them "someday". That someday is now. I want to have a very modern nursery. For some reason I think sticks encompass the term "modern". Once I pick the color theme for his nursery I will paint the bundle of sticks accordingly :)
After everyone left for the evening, I sat in the rocking chair and just tried to soak up the moment that this is our son's nursery.... and I hate the layout. Neal, being the sweet and patient husband that he is, moved the furniture around who knows how many times until I was able to say confidently, "Yep, this is it. It's perfect!"
I love it.
