Uh Oh.....

***Before you judge us you need to read the story!

Saturday night Neal and I were leaving our brother Scott's house after watching a football game. As we were pulling out of our parking spot, a tiny puppy crawled out from under the other car and stared into our headlights. The puppy was so scared and shaking. Neal got out and went to pick him up and he just layed in the parking lot. We took a look at him and realized that he had been out on his own for a couple days now. He was filthy and so skinny that his little ribs were showing. There wasn't a tag on him and there were no fliers up in the neighborhood showing that he had worried owners that missed him. I was so mad! How could anyone be that irresponsible and let a sweet little puppy roam the streets like this. He obviously didn't have responsible owners or else he wouldn't be there in the first place.

We decided to take him home with us, feed him, bathe him, and then find new owners. I cried when I was giving him his first bath because the water was literally black. He had been roaming around all by himself for who knows how long. I had to shampoo him a couple times before he came clean. He ate like a little piggie and chowed down the same amount of food our 80 lb bundle of joy (Leonard) eats in one sitting. He had definitely not eaten for a long time. We gave him lot's of water and cuddled him all night. He is the sweetest little thing!

The puppy is only 7-9 weeks old and he is just adorable. He is some type of terrier mix... we're not quite sure. Good news is he doesn't really shed. He has short, coarse hair. All we know is that we love him and we're looking for someone to give him a good home. We're currently working with the local doggy foster care community to set him up with a good adoption agency. There is no way that we can keep him so we need to find him some new parents fast before I get too attached. Kind of too late though because we named him.... WALTER.
How perfect is that? Walter is a sweetheart. He is such a great puppy. If we didn't already have two dogs I would keep him in a heartbeat. I have absolutely loved having a puppy in the house again. It makes me miss the times when Leonard was just a baby. Puppies are so cute! Our sweet Walter deserves a great home and loving parents.

If you know of ANYONE that is willing to take him in and give him lots of love please let me know.

  1. How sad, that breaks my heart! :( Stuff like that is just so sad, poor little puppy. I'd adopt him if we lived closer and had a backyard for him! Poor little thing. Way to be good samaratins and help out! Maybe you could put an ad on craigslist or something??
