Anniversary Weekend

For our first anniversary, we wanted to give eachother the "traditional anniversary gifts". For your first year, you are supposed to give your spouse paper. I surprised Neal and got him a canvas print (kind of paper, right?) of his all-time favorite photograph. This picture was taken by the artist Mark Mabry. He did a series called Reflections of Christ and photographed real people dipicting moments in our Savior's ministry here on earth. He's always wanted the picture of Jesus teaching Simon on the shore at dawn. It is beautiful and I can't wait to get it framed for him! :)

Neal surprised me with tickets (paper, again!) to SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE! The tour comes to Salt Lake November 4th so we'll be spending the weekend up in Salt Lake. I am so so so excited for that night. It is the PERFECT gift for me. I've always wanted to go! Neal and I watched this season together, he got really good as saying, "and here's, Laaauuuurreeennnn...." I think he has a mini crush on her. That's okay by me.... well played.

Leonard is still mad at us because we still haven't celebrated his birthday. He is so self-centered. Leonard was born in September but technically didn't our family until October so I told him that we could do something in October for him. He's been wanting some new chew toys for a while.

Neal's parents came into town last weekend. They were the peeps that made it possible for Neal and I to have our Mrs. Backer's cake! :) We decided to reward them by sharing a couple pieces of cake. It was so fun to finally have them stay at our house! I love it when they come in visit. I can't wait until we live closer so we can both see our families more.

Like grandfather, like grandson.

Oscy had the privilege of enjoying the company of his grandparents. He loves visitors. Grandma Char spoiled him all weekend!

Here is us and our parents outside of the house after their bike ride. Neal just bought his first road bike last week so he's been excited to use it as much as possible. His friend Will does races so Neal has been training with him by going on bike rides together. Neal is still trying to convince me to get a bike but I just can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a bike- I'd rather just be given a shopping spree :)

Saturday one of our Kalamity girls got married!!! Becky and Nolan were sealed in the St. George temple and had their reception at Tai Pan.... the Tai Pan here in St. George has an attached reception area that is AMAZING! It was so gorgeous, I felt like we were in a secret garden. Everything was very vintage, I loved it!
Only a week and a half and then we get to celebrate our anniversary again haha
