Ward Luau

I'm trying to play catch up from last weekend. This week has flown by way too fast! Last weekend we were able to go to our Ward Luau. It was an end of summer party full of hula dancers, roasted pig, and people getting lei'd.

Neal and I got to serve the food. Our official duty was to make sure no one took more than one piece of chicken or more than one serving of the side dishes. We had it on lock down.
You know who didn't have it on lock down? The dessert table!!! Absolutely NO ONE was standing by the table to secure the cookies and brownies for me. The selfish sweet spirits in our ward (mostly my primary kids) took as many servings of dessert as they could fit on their paper plates. By the time Neal and I were finished serving food to everyone in line, we got the scraps and absolutely ZERO dessert. I was furious. I can go without food but come on... dessert? No way. It was unacceptable that there weren't any desserts left. I look forward to ward activities because I get to try a new dessert from our relief society sisters. After I was finished fuming over my dessert-less night, Neal promised me some ice cream and I was good the rest of the night.

We were able to enjoy hawaiin and tahitian dancing. All of our young women did an amazing job preparing for the show! Neal and I (k maybe just me) wanted to do the couples dance but didn't have time to make it to any of the practices. Their dance turned out so cute but it definitely was missing a young, talented couple like us front and center. Maybe next year? :)

By the end of the night Neal was ready to take me out. No dinner+No dessert= No happy wife.
