One down-Forever to go....

On Sunday September 19th Neal and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary!

Just one year ago Neal and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. I remember driving to the temple with Neal that special day as we listened to I Love To See The Temple. I can't say that it was my lifetime dream come true, I never thought I would be married in the temple. However, on that day, I was able to reach the dream I worked very hard for during the three previous years. Ever since I was baptized I knew that I wanted to be sealed in the temple. I am so grateful for all those that helped me (and my sweet Nealson) on the way to the temple. It literally was a dream come true. Everything was so perfect that day.

I was overwhelmed by the support we had inside the temple and outside waiting for us. The moments that we experienced in the temple surrounded by our loved ones are very overwhelming. It was the closest I've felt to having heaven on earth. The sealer asked us to look around the room and look each of our guests in the eyes and silently thank them for supporting us. I broke down each time I looked at someone new. It was the most amazing feeling to look back on the last 3 years of my life and realize all the people that were there for me through the journey. I was humbled to see those that made it to the sealing of Neal and I. I was blessed that I could kneel across the alter from my best friend. Heavenly father blessed us with the beginning of our eternity that day. I will forever remember those very sacred and special moments we enjoyed in the sealing room.

This was taken at our reception at Rice Eccles stadium. We had quite the wedding party! I refused to choose between family and friends so we both decided to include them all. My best girlfriends and my sisters were my bridesmaids. Neal had his best friends, brothers, and brother-in-laws as his groomsmen. This wedding party seriously made our reception. They were all dancin fools! We had a DJ we danced the night away. It was exactly how I imagined my wedding would be. We all had so much fun on the dance floor, Neal and I ended up staying until 11pm so we could continue dancing with all the guests!

The following picture is one that will go down in history. I ALWAYS knew I wanted to smash the cake in my husband's face but I had no idea I'd marry a man with that same dream................please take into account that the song, "Hit me with your best shot" was blasted as we cut our cake together. I should have seen it coming!

Our cake was made by the famous Mrs. Backer's Bakery. Neal's family has been ordering cakes from there for over 25 years so we wanted to keep the tradition and order our wedding cake from them. It was amazingly delicious! The guests enjoyed the whole cake AND two sheet cakes. There was absolutely nothing left for us to save for our one year.

I tried to be sneaky and order a mini cake from the bakery to celebrate our one year. So instead of eaten the top of our frozen one year old cake, we got to eat a fresh back Mrs. Backer's cake :) We decided that every year, no matter where we're at, we are going to enjoy a Mrs. Backer's mini wedding cake to celebrate our anniversaries.

The top of the cake says Love, Friendship, and Loyalty. It's the saying accompanied with the Irish Wedding Ring. It is the perfect saying for us, we just did a little backwards. Ours should really read.... Friendship, Love, and Loyalty :) Either way, I love it!
Here's us getting ready to enjoy our cake...
Thoughts from a year ago are coming back to me (cake boogers for a week!) .....
BOOYA!!!!! It's about time I got him back!!!

And of course, we saved a little piece for Lenny.
Last year, we went on a Bahama's cruise for our honeymoon. To keep traditions going, we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our anniversary than to book another cruise :) We leave next weekend on a 7 day mexican riviera cruise!!! I cannot wait to spend an entire week relaxing with my sweet husband, Life is so good! We are so blessed and we couldn't be more excited for making it past our one year mark! :)
