Lately

We are officially 2 weeks out from baby girl arriving! I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy went, it's crazy to me that we're so close to having her. These next couple weeks are dedicated to getting ready for Kate and Neal's birthday! Just one day apart :) I have a lot I want to do, mostly shopping and cleaning :) I have the majority of it done but I'm definitely going to need the next 2 weeks to feel more prepared.

I've been feeling great though! I don't believe I'm really that close to having her, I'm 38 weeks now!!! I've been having contractions but nothing too serious. They calm down as soon as I'm sitting, so no real labor signs yet.

At my doctors appointment this morning everything looked great! She has a perfectly healthy heartbeat, my blood pressure is normal, and she's measuring on track. Her arrival is scheduled for the 26th at 7:15am unless she comes earlier. My doctor told me to watch for labor signs like rythmic contractions or my water breaking. I feel a lot better prepared this time around in knowing when I'm really going into labor or when my water breaks. With Liam, we went to labor and delivery TWICE thinking that my contractions were serious and then that my water had broke. Both times were false alarms, even the 'water breaking'. Apparently I just peed my pants. Lovely. So now- I know what to be looking for and how I should be feeling :)
I'm getting more and more anxious for our sweet Liam to become a big brother. There's part of me that feels so guilty to add another one to the mix. I can't imagine him not being my baby anymore! We've been preparing him by reading the book, "I'm a Big Brother". He's been preparing by naming his hot wheels cars "Kate".
Time is flying by with everything we have going on. Things at the house are going great! We (and by we I mean Neal) finished all the major renovations we wanted to do, we LOVE how everything turned out and we're finally feeling settled. It's nice to actually enjoy the home instead of worrying about what's next on the project list :) Of course, there's always going to be a project list and always something left to do but at least we're unpacked, settled, and the big stuff is finished.
Here's a picture of our finished mudroom/lockers! We've added little coat hooks in all the lockers and it turned out better than we could have imagined. Once again, our friend Jay hooked us up and did all the installation so all we had to do was the painting (which is still no fun). We want to put some wicker baskets in the top cubbies for some extra storage. We did a really great job with the storage in this place because I'm finding myself not knowing what to put in everything haha We also did a really great job of purging all things we don't use and I think that really helped. It's nice knowing that we don't have any junk in the house or garage, especially for this nesting mama :)
