4th of July

This year we headed straight back to the famous Kaysville Parade. Uncle Nate and his friends went over the night before and scoped out the perfect spot for us! We arrived early that morning and started the trek down to our coveted position. We got there just in time for the parade to start. Liam loved hanging with Miss Brynn and all her big girl friends. He tried keeping up with them and the candy, I tried keeping up with him. There were a couple times I had to venture across the line to grab Liam as he was running toward oncoming parade traffic. That kid loves his candy.
After lunch and some naps, we had a big family BBQ. Even pop pop joined us! Grandma surprised the grandkids with a brand new slip and slide and we all had a ball watching the kids play. Not all of us just watched, I got a little too excited, childhood memories came flooding back, and I had to show these kids how it’s really done.

Dinner was amazing! Uncle Nate cooked some smoked ribs and chicken, we had fresh watermelon, amazing corn on the cob (right off the grill), and great company. We all had such a great day. By 8pm Liam was trashed and ready for bed. After bath-time, some stories, and his sippy of milk- he was out. Neal and I enjoyed fireworks from the back deck cuddled up in the chair. The best part about doing fireworks this way is no traffic! As soon as it was over we got to walk straight inside and head to bed. It was the perfect ending to a great holiday!
