Buried Treasure

It's official... Nealson is a thrift store junkie. The past couple months he's been making frequent (daily) trips to the local thrift stores. He loves searching through all the books they have to offer. So much so that he ends up leaving with a book in hand every time. Fortunately for me, his little hobby in pretty inexpensive because most of his books top out at 50 cents. It's a definite hobby that I can support.

I've been grateful for his daily stops because we've been able to build Liam's children book library. He's found the popular Dr. Suess books, The Chronicles of Narnia, and all the children's classics. It's been fun to be able to start to fill Liam's bookshelf already. We can't wait to read to him every night.

Today was an extra special day at the thrift store. Neal stopped at the DI after class and found a treasure chest! He immediately called and asked if I wanted it for Liam's room to store all of his toys in. I've been looking for one since we found out we were having a boy. Neal was the lucky customer that day and snatched it up. He came straight home and went to work on it...
The more layers he scraped off the better it looked. I couldn't believe what he uncovered. It fits PERFECTLY with Liam's room and I can't wait to use it as a prop in his newborn pictures :)
As soon as it was finished it went straight into the nursery to hold all of Liam's stuffed animal friends.
When Neal first picked up the chest it had a thick layer of chocolate brown paint on the outside. Look how amazing it turned out!!!!
I am absolutely in love with it. It was definitely worth the $20, it's the perfect treasure chest for all our future little boys :)
