The Brophy Abode

The weekend of the 4th we all headed up to the Brophy Cabin for a weekend getaway. This is our favorite weekend of the summer, we always enjoy our time up at the cabin with my family...the dogs get pretty excited about it too :) I love our cabin because we still get the feeling of being outside campin except for the fact that we have somewhere to sleep and shower inside. It's the perfect mix!

This year we had so many people show up for the weekend that most people had to sleep outside in tents. Lucky for us, I pulled out my "pregnancy card" so Neal and I could have our own room with the queen bed in it :) It pays off being a pregasaurus rex!

Oscar loves to sit my the fire in his chair... Neal doesn't approve.

Every year these two LOVE riding the golf cart with me. Anytime they see me get in they run over and hop on. Leonard always calls shotgun so Oscy is left to fend for himself on the floor.

Our annual cabin picture! Next year we'll have Liam to join in on the fun :)

My uncle Kyle surprised us this year by building our very own golf ball game! I guess some call it ladder ball or redneck golf, I just call it the golf ball flingy game. It works. My first time playing against Neal and I hit every single level! Beginners luck? Maybe.

We could not even get this dog out of the river this weekend. Anytime Lenny was missing we knew exactly where to find him. He had a blast just laying in the water, splashing around, and eating way too much dirt. He's a water dog... kind of. He loves water, he just doesn't love open water. He's not the best swimmer.

Still in love :)

Here I am with my sweet nieces. It freaks me out that they are going to be a Junior and Senior in High School this next year. I always love having these girls around during our family get togethers. They make everything more fun.

Lennikins and Neal played their fair share of softball over the weekend. Leonard still doesn't understand that he can't play catch with us. Is it wierd that my dog is almost as tall as my husband? What a beast.

I was assigned the desserts for the weekend. I went a little overboard and made sure that each dessert for the night was themed for the 4th of July weekend. I made stars and stripes cupcakes, white chocolate covered strawberries with blue sprinkles, and this beauty!!! This is a fruit pizza, my favorite!

CY BABY! This is our adorable nephew Cy. He's three and full of too much energy. He kept us all very busy this weekend. Here he is with his pop-pop learning how to makes smores. Him and Liam are going to be the best of friends... or drive each other nuts.

Aysia and I!

Cy challenged Neal to a sword fight. Neal has a lot of practicing to do before our son gets here. Cy kicked his butt.

We were sad to leave the cabin, we're already looking forward to coming again next year. I wish we lived closer so we could go more often. My parents come up a couple times a month. It's the perfect little getaway and we love having this place to share as a family.
