20 weeks/HALFWAY THERE!!!

Yes, it's true.. I've hit my 20 week mark. WE'RE HALFWAY THERE! I had a bit of a breakdown this week when I realized that my pregnancy was already halfway finished. I feel like I have so much to do!!! My top priority right now is to finish the nursery. We'll see how that goes....

“Bump watch “11”

The belly is growing and it’s growing fast! I tend to freak myself out when I walk past a mirror sometimes. I have to stop and think, “Is that really me?” I think I look like a yellow-bellied sneetch from the Dr. Suess series… very weird. My favorite is Neal’s comments: “Yeah, you definitely have a belly” “Yep, it’s growing alright” “Babe, let me see your belly…. Whoa.” He has no idea what he’s in for! Haha I can’t wait to hear what he has to say when it’s HUGE right before Liam decides to come.

My saving grace this week has been my bellyband!!! Neal gets husband of the year award for getting it for me for my birthday this year. The band allows me to wear all of my same clothes, but just keep my top button undone on all of my pants. It is amazing, and so comfortable. I love having the extra security around my belly. I feel like it holds everything in haha it’s especially helpful when I’m dancing or working out, I don’t feel like my belly is going all over the place.

“I’m HOW far along!?!?”

I’m still in shock about being half-way. 20 weeks. The first half went so fast, but then maybe it didn’t. He is going to be here before we know it! I still feel like we have so much left to do. My top priority right now is finishing the nursery. The other things will have to wait until after the baby showers this summer. It’s crazy to think that summer is already here and Liam is due in September! I can’t believe how fast it’s going to come; we couldn’t be more excited though.

Liam is a crazy man!!!! I am now feeling him move every day! I feel him all day at work while I am sitting down. I absolutely love it, I can’t imagine what it’s going to feel like as he grows and becomes stronger. Right now his jabs are so cute and little but I know things will change fast so I just have to enjoy it. Soon enough I’ll be getting a right hook and hinge kick from the inside! Pray for me….

Welcome to Fatherhood”

This week was exciting because we started on the nursery! The nursery is SLOWLY coming together but I now know what direction I want to take it. I’m waiting to start the bedding until the fabric I picked out goes on sale. I was, however, able to start on some of his shelf décor! I wanted to find 3 antique wooden toys. I was looking for a plane, truck, boat, and train. Yard sales, craigslist, and eBay were not delivering so I had to get creative. I decided to check out Michaels and see if they have wooden toys that I could just paint to match his bedding. Sure enough, they had them! And they were perfect! All we had to do was assemble them from home and then I could choose the paint colorJ I was thrilled and so excited to get started that night.

Well, we got home, opened the package, and were surprised to find that there were more than just 6 pieces to put together for each today. There were about 100!!!?!?!? I swore it said for children ages 3+. I took a second look at the package and I was right…. 3+. Who are they kidding? I would never let my 3 year old even ATTEMPT to make this toy. I started helping Nealson but after ten minutes I was done. SO done, in fact, that I decided to just clean the house instead. That’s how bad I didn’t want to do it.

2 and a half hours later Neal finished the first of four! 2 and a half hours!!!!! All the pieces were perfectly placed and glued together. It looked perfect! I couldn’t wait to see how the other toys turned out! We went straight into Liam’s nursery and placed it on his bookshelf. Onto the next one! This was just a small taste of what fatherhood is going to look like for Neal. I can already imagine him trying to complete puzzles, lego castles, and make tents with his son.

(Neal is looking forward to doing these WITH Liam… not for Mommy and her crazy decorating ideas.)
