The Great Christmas Extravaganza started off early in my office on Wednesday. I had the privilege of planning the office gift exchange. I decided to do a white elephant gift game with a little twist on it :) I sent out this e-mail to all my coworkers (let me please remind everyone once again that I work with all men... which makes this story even better:) You'll see why later on!)
ERIN BURK TO MEN OF THE OFFICE:
I just wanted to send a quick shout out for our Ugly (or most embarrassing) Office Décor Competition. We are going to do the gift exchange game the morning of the 16th during our usual huddle time. Take note that by entering in a gift you are agreeing to display your final gift in your office for the next 365 days. This is no joke people. The decoration you end up with, you will display it. If you are not up for the challenge, please stay on the porch with the puppies while the big dogs play. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks guys.
All the guys were SO excited and got really into it. I was determinded to get the most embarrassing gift, and good news... I had it planned from the very start!
Here are pictures of the final gifts!
Joe (aka the old guy) has now hung up this beauty in his office. It was purchased for suprisingly 1 dollar and catches all your bad dreams in it's cute pink feathers.
Spencer (aka Dwight)picked this prize of a spooky african mask. Funny thing is, it matches most of his other crazy finds in his office so he was pretty excited about it...
Brendan (aka our own version of Michael Scott) gets to display his love of intercourse... the town that is:)
Who would ever give this amazing wizard away? Someone must not of liked its mystical powers because it was found for 4 bucks at the DI... how dare them. Brandon (aka the clown) is pretty pumped to look at what he calls "Gandolf the Gay"
And here is what I scored during our crazy game of white elephant. A HUGE statue of a scary catholic saint... how ironic. I was cracking up after opening it because I threatened all of them that I might relapse now and go back to catholicism if I have to stare at this everyday ... it is pretty creep though haha
Joe (aka the midget tongon bodybuilder)was the lucky recipient of my gift... EDWARD!!!! He about died when he opened it because he knew that he was stuck with this in his office for the rest of the year! hahaha I have absolutely no problem with it though.
The first thing I look at when I walk into the office is the ashamed catholic saint holding a baby, but then i'm relieved when I see Edwards beautiful face and can read below "I will not destroy your soul." haha
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job. The people I work with are so much fun and I absolutely love what I get to do. More good news... they hired another girl!!! I'm so excited to get some estrogen in this office. It's going to be great!
................
Yesterday I was in Salt Lake for some meetings so Neal had to pick me up from the airport in St. George at 6 30. I get off the plane and the first thing he says is..."Are you ready to go to the Ugly Sweater Party!?!"
Um... hello!?! Of course not! I don't even have anything to wear! After 15 minutes of stressing and trying to throw together some dang ugly outfits, we made it to the party and it was a blast! We hung out, had photoshoots, ate pizza, built gingerbread houses, and ate way too much candy. The couple who threw the party are in our new ward, it's been sooo much fun getting to know everyone there. I love that we're finally making friends there, it makes church that much more fun!
This is Neal's exquisite gingerbread home... mine didn't make it through construction so I only have pictures of his :( I was going to post the remains of my gingerbread home but it was too depressing.
Hope you are all having a great Christmas Season! We're driving up to the 801 tonight to start celebrating with family and friends... Merry Christmas everyone!!!
xoxo Erin Burk
