Goodbye St. George home

I always knew this day would come but I didn’t quite know when. Once we moved up to Salt Lake we had renters in our home down in St. George. Renting that home was a nightmare, we had two tenants since we moved out and it just wasn’t working. With the economy in the dumps, we were still paying $100 out of pocket in order to keep the house and make the mortgage payments. It ended up becoming a stress that we just weren’t willing to deal with any longer. At the beginning of summer we decided to put the house up for sale by owner. After 2 months of no offers we decided to go with a real estate agent. Our friend from Ence Homes and our old ward, Kade Ence, offered us a discount if he could be our agent so we just went with it. He was wonderful and had the home sold within 2 months! We got the offer that we wanted and needed to make it worth it to sell. We got lucky and sold on the higher price because so many people wanted to buy homes with the interest rates. In this market, it’s the ideal time to buy, not necessarily sell, but we got such a good deal on the home and built up enough equity that it made it worth it to sell. We were able to walk away with what we needed to start looking for a new home up in Salt Lake!
It is just crazy to think that Neal got the job on Friday and we sold our home on Saturday. It couldn’t have been better timing. We had been praying for months that it would sell so we could move forward with a new home up here and it finally did! We knew without a doubt that the Lord had his hand in this and we feel so extremely blessed for him watching over our little family.

As sad as it was to walk away from this very very special home of ours, we are ready for the next step in life!
