With closing on our new home and baby number two coming, we opted for more of a low key trip this year. It was my year to plan and I knew there was no way I could trump last year. Remember... Paris? Yeah, it was the anniversary of a lifetime haha Neal will forever be praised for planning that spontaneous trip.
This year we were on a tight budget but I was still determined to do something fun. We spent the weekend up in Park City. I'm so glad we got to go up during the fall weather. The colors were beautiful!
We had lunch at the most amazing mexican restaurant. I've never raved about a mexican restaurant before but I'm serious when I say that this place is the best. The fajitas were absolutely amazing (maybe being pregnant had something to do with it?).
After lunch we headed up to the Utah Olympic Legacy Park where the 2002 olympics took place!
We checked out the museums and the actual park.
Our favorite was the zip line! We zip lined while on our one year anniversary cruise in Puerta Vallarta. Those were through a jungle, this one was down a ski slope!
Neal was a bit nervous while waiting for the initial drop.
Me? Not so much.
They also had a new alpine slide coaster... amazing! By far the best one in Utah.
That night we REALLY splurged on ourselves and went to eat at Ruth's Chris. We heard great things about it but had no idea what we were about to experience.
The hostess sat us right by the fire. I can't rave enough about the yummy food (steak in particular). It was a long romantic dinner. We finally had time to just sit and talk. The whole dinner experience was so romantic. It was the perfect ending to our four year anniversary. They even comped us our choice of dessert!
I'm grateful that we had some time for ourselves as just a couple. We know it's important to get that time together but it's sometimes impossible with a toddler, working full-time jobs, and going to school. We forget how good we are together as just a couple! It brings us right back to our college years :)
I love this man with all of my heart. I can't help but feel full of love and gratitude when I think of the beautiful life and family we have created together. I look forward to so much with him by my side.
