Glamping

The girls I work with are amazing, some of my best friends now. Think about it, I spend more time with them than I do my own family which is so sad but I’m grateful I at least have them when I’m away from Li Li and Nealson. We work together, eat lunch together, shop together, work out together, IM each other constantly while at work, and even hang out on weekends. We planned a short overnighter up to my parents cabin for the weekend. We wanted just a quick getaway and it was perfect! We got there Friday night and immediately began prepping for dinner. No need for Eagle Scouts, we got that fire started! (a little lighter fluid might have something to do with that). We made amazing tin foil dinners with BBQ sauce. Hadn’t done that before but it was beyond amazing. I just kept eating until everything was gone. After that we hung out by the fire and enjoyed gourmet smores using the usual ingredients but added raspberries…. AMAZING!!!
That night we stayed up late doing mani/pedi’s, watching chick flicks, and made bean bag warmers for the office. I felt like I was in college again staying up late with my roommates. We laughed so hard and had a great time together. As much as I missed my family, I needed that time away to miss them. You know what I mean? Once we settled in for the night and I got in bed, I missed Neal not being there. I missed not being able to rock Liam to sleep that night. It’s a good feeling to miss someone though knowing that I get to see them so soon. So- I soaked up the freedom and slept in until 10am!!! That hasn’t happened in over a year! It was simply amazing, kind of weird, but much needed. We spent the morning having pancakes and fruit and then took the four wheelers out. We took a long drive up the canyon and then did a short hike. I say short because we were being stalked by wild cows and decided being trampled to death would not look good in our obituaries so we headed back to the cabin. Chili for lunch and then some cleaning and we were outta there!
