2011 was a big year for us, mostly because of our new little man that joined the family. I've been so excited to celebrate Christmas with him this year. I still catch myself saying, "When I have kids I'm going ....(blah, blah, blah)." But then I have to remind myself- I do have kids (well, one) and now I can finally do all the things I wanted to with Liam :)
First item on the list; Take pictures with Santa Claus. It was the Saturday before Christmas and Neal wanted to go to the mall to get the pictures taking. I cringed at the thought of how busy it would be, standing in line for hours, and then paying WAY too much money for the pictures. I opted for the cheap, fast, and easy way...Sunset Western. Sunset Western is a cowboy store right by our house. They had a FREE Santa AND Mrs. Claus. How could we pass that up? Neal thought I was joking but sure enough we walked to the back of the store and Mr. and Mrs. C were sitting there waiting to hold our sweet little boy. Liam didn't ask for much for Christmas, which is probably a good thing. Santa thinks that this is the last year he can get away with not spoiling Liam on Christmas morning... that's what the grandparents are for this year :)
According to this picture, it looks like the only thing Liam wanted for Christmas was a new outfit. He's not a fan of his moose hat and Christmas sweater but I'm a mean mommy and force him to wear it anyway because I think he is just adorable.
Next up on the list- EGGNOG. Check.
It's not officially a baby's first Christmas until you have a commemorative ornament to prove that it really happened. Luckily, my co-workers took care of that for us. They gave us this little beauty to display on our tree for years to come. Won't this be fun to explain to Liam when he's older? (Yes- you're seeing it correctly, it's a little black baby)
Last on the list, Christmas Parties! He's already been to 2 this year and he is loving them. He especially loves getting dressed up in his other Christmas outfit that his Aunt Colleen (my cousin) sent him. I call her Auntie CoCo but both her nor Liam are fond of that name. I think it's catchy.
The cute longsleeve onsie that she sent him says, "My Auntie knows Santa." And she's not lying...she really does know him.
Even Liam is shocked that it's his very first Christmas!!! So far our Christmas season has been wonderful and busy. We always have our Christmas tree on and Liam loves staring at the lights and admiring his first ornament. Christmas music plays throughout the house (mostly because it's on my phone so the music goes where I go). We've watched MANY Christmas movies already but our favorite has been A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey, so good!
We are looking forward to going up to Salt Lake to spend time with friends and family. I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas!
