He's how old!?!

I remember thinking that while I'm on maternity leave I'm going to have SO much time to catch up on my reading, update the blog, facebook, and take lots of pictures all while spending every waking minute with my new baby boy.... WRONG! I was so naive haha I feel like I have zero time to do anything now. I promise I'm going to get caught up... soon :)

Liam had his 2 week check-up and everything went great! He needed to be past his birth weight by this point (7 lbs 8 oz) and he surpassed it! He was a whole pound heavier :) The pediatrician was so happy. Liam got his check up and everything looked great!

Liam had his blood drawn to get his PKU testing completed. It was so sad! I didn't want to leave the room this time but I let Neal hold him while Liam had his heel pricked for the test. It lasted a lot longer than I thought it would! I didn't know they had to squeeze out the blood, Liam was crying the entire time so it broke my heart to hear him in pain. I can't imagine watching your child go through extensive surgeries or procedures like those that have to deal with illness and disease. We are so blessed to have a healthy baby, I'm so grateful that we haven't had any complications.

Before leaving our pediatrician asked if Neal and I had completed our flu shots this season... Neal and I hate shots and therefore have avoided the flu shot like the plague (maybe not the best comparison). The doctor HIGHLY advised that we get the vaccination plus another one for whooping cough. We really didn't want to but she insisted it would be best for Liam, and the safest with the flu season coming. So we decided to be responsible parents and courageous adults and go ahead and get the shots.

I have NO idea what we were so scared of haha Maybe it's because I've now had my blood drawn more times than I can count and survived the epidural that made those tiny shots no big deal. So- we did it! We're now caught up on our vaccines and Liam gets to go in for his at his 2 month check up... it'll be here before we know it!!!

I'm still blown away at how fast he's growing and changing. I can't get enough of him and I love him more than I thought I ever could! More updates to come :)
