Nesting is going on full-force here at the Burk Home! You could probably tell by the fact that I've had his nursery finished for weeks now but the nesting is spreading. I've been obsessed with decluttering the home and I've had a breakthrough. Neal calls it my breaking point. I went through all my clothes, jewelry, and shoes and picked out all the ones I never wear. I was determined to get rid of everything that I hold on to and say, "Well I know I can use it SOMEDAY." Someday has turned into never and I put everything I could find that we don't need or use and got ready for....
OUR FIRST YARD SALE!
Saturday morning we woke up at 6am to start setting everything out. The signs were posted the night before and facebook messages were sent to let everyone know about our yard sale. People started showing up right at 7 and kept coming until about 10. In just three hours we were able to make $200!!! And we only sold half of our stuff! We were able to donate everything else to the DI and use it as a tax write-off :)
The day was a success and we celebrated by going out to dinner together for date night :) We now have some extra cash on hand to spend on some diapers and wipes for when Liam gets here!
It feels AMAZING to have the house de-cluttered and ready to go for the baby. The last thing we need to do is one more deep clean of the entire house and then get our carpets shampooed. That will have to be the week of though so we can come home from the hospital to a nice and clean house :)
