34 Weeks!

Can you believe that I made it to 34 weeks already? I can't! These last couple of weeks have flown by and I feel like it's all happening way too fast. I keep telling Neal, "We need to pack a hospital bag, we need to get everything packed and ready to go!!!" He, being the sweet husband that he is, agrees but then we never end up doing it haha But I am determined to get something put together this week. I think that's the last thing I need to take care of as far as baby prep before I feel totally ready. Other than that, everthing is ready to go for the big arrival! :)

Well, it's official. I retired my costumes for the time being and had my official last dance performance until post baby..... :( Last week we had a little performance at the Tuachan pre-show. I just did two of the numbers, that was about all I could handle. I had a great time and I'll miss performing with my team for the time being. It's hard having to sit out and watch but I know that it will be worth it. I'm still attending classes and practices, just trying to take it a little easier. I'm committed to dancing as long as I feel good doing it! I want to stay as active as I can before I go into labor, hopefully it helps with the delivery :)
Here I am at 34 Weeks! :)

On Friday we went in for our 34 week check up. We were able to hear Liam's strong heartbeat and everything looks great! He said that babies that make it past the 34 week mark can come at anytime and have relatively little problems as compared to full-term babies (38 weeks). The doctor said that he weighs about 4-4.5 lbs right now. He said that we can expect a small baby, weighing in about 6 pounds. I was happy to hear that, I don't think i would make it through the delivery if I was baking a 10 pounder!!! He did inform us that the average baby now weighes between 8-10 lbs at birth! Can you believe that? No wonder there are so many C-Sections these days. Babies keep getting bigger and bigger!

Dr. Chalmers wants to see me in 2 weeks. By that time I'll be at 36 weeks so he'll start checking to see if I'm progressing at all. It freaked me out a little bit knowing that next week I'll be going in to see if I'm dialated at all! I can't believe I'm already to that point. I'm definitely feeling it now. I keep getting braxton hicks contractions. At night, I have the hardest time falling asleep because of the added belly weight. I feel like I have a bowling ball in my belly and I just roll from side to side trying to get more comfortable. And the bladder situation is not getting any better. At this point in the pregnancy, the baby's head starts to tip downward and sit right on the bladder. Lucky me! And lucky for Costco since we are taking most of their toilet paper stock due to my frequent trips to the bathroom.

I'm looking forward to the couple baby showers I have coming up. I am amazed at all the love and support we are receiving. My 2nd mom, Ilene Hacker, is throwing me a shower here in St. George. All my St. George friends and ward members are invited to that one. And then- Kalamity is doing a split baby shower/bridal shower for me, sheree (other pregnant teammate), and shay (the bride-to-be)! I'm so excited for both of these! It's going to be a lot of fun :)

Liam is becoming more and more responsive to Neal's voice. Lately, Neal has been playing the acoustic guitar for him. No singing though... just the guitar haha It's been fun to see him move around in there. I feel like my stomach is just stretched to the brink that now we can really feel him from the outside. We always feel his back and butt when he's moving around in there. He's starting to love stretching out so I can see my waist pop out on both sides! Kind of freaky but still amazing that he's growing this much.

Neal keeps saying over and over that he just wants him to be here! I'm pretty anxious myself but I can wait a couple more weeks. It's surreal that he'll be here this soon. We are both so excited!
