31 Weeks!

Are you happy about your pregnancy or just dealing with it? Definitely happy! The first 4-5 months I was dealing with it but still grateful to even be pregnant. Now I'm to the point where I am still enjoying it. Yes- things are starting to get a little uncomfortable but it hasn't been too bad. I've been so lucky with the weather here in St. George, I haven't really noticed the heat yet.

Weight gain: 10 lbs

Symptoms- An expanding belly, lower back pain, and sweet cravings :) I have yet to experience swollen feet and ankles so I'm still counting my blessings!

Have you felt your baby move? Yeah and I'm not too happy about it now. Apparently Liam is upset with the lack of personal space right now. He insists on spreading out underneath my ribcage. I don't blame him, the Brophy's are notorious for short torso's so he really doesn't have room to spread out in there. I can tell he's getting stronger though. He's now trying to freak mommy out by sticking is fist out as far as he can. I do not enjoy seeing that thing jet out of my stomach, I feel like I'm on the movie "Species".

What do you miss doing since being pregnant? Laying on my stomach. 31 weeks pregnant makes it a little difficult to do that now. The best is seeing me at the pool. I seriously look like a beached whale while trying to lay out. I just roll from side to side trying to get comfortable on my back but it's near impossible haha I'm definitely looking forward to being able to sleep on my stomach again.

Something I learned this week: This may be TMI but I learned the difference between an episiotomy and naturally tearing. I don't necessarily need to go into all the details but I felt comfortable with the answers he gave on what he practices. I love my Doctor and how willing he is to talk to me about everything. I had an appointment on Friday and came to him with a list of questions. He slowly talked me through every one of them and resolved all concerns that I had. I trust him and I'm so glad that he's our doctor!

Do you have insurance? Yes, thank goodness! Neal and I are so grateful for the insurance offered through my company. Everything is covered 100% other than the hospital admittance fee which is $500. We couldn't be more blessed when it comes to that. Knowing that we won't have to worry about a huge bill coming our way after the baby alleviates so much stress and worry for us as a new family.

Are you remembering to take your prenatal vitamins regularly? Yes! I'm still taking my prenatal (dha), multivitamin, folic acid, and flaxseed. I swear by all of these! No specific brands but I really feel good about all the vitamins I've taken during my pregnancy so far.

Bellybutton: It makes me laugh. It's flattening out and looks like its about to pop at any moment. I feel like an undercooked turkey...

What is the most surprising thing about being pregnant? How many people view you as being disabled. People treat you differently when your pregnant. They treat you like you can't do anything for yourself because you're constantly miserable. I don't know who it is that gave us pregnant women a bad rap but people treat me like I can't do anything for myself. I was standing in line at the airport last week and a worker asked if I needed to cut to the front of the line because of my "condition". Really? Do I look that miserable that I can't even stand here for an extra ten minutes with the rest of the civilians? Do I really need special treatment? No. But I was going to take him up on the offer anyway until he refused to let my two co-workers come with me haha

Favorite part of the week: Hearing Liam's strong and healthy heartbeat! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for having such a healthy pregnancy so far.

SURPRISE! Here's a picture of the nursery. Lenny wanted to make an appearance. I was so excited that Neal completed this project for me. It is perfect!!!

  1. So sweet! I think it's awesome it is all written down like this. When I was pregnant with Jadyn I wrote letters to her and she found them the other day and came in and wanted to talk about them and how true some of the things already are (we wouldn't always see eye to eye, etc). Liam will treasure all these posts!
