26 Weeks!

I'm now finishing up the 2nd trimester of this pregnancy. Time is going by too fast now! In just two short weeks I'll already be in the 3rd trimester! I have just over 3 months to go and we get more and more excited each day. We love to just sit in the nursery together as a family and think about what it will be like when he finally arrives :)

Bump Watch '11!
(Pretty much the same as last week so I thought I'd spare you)

Symptoms?
Other than my ballooning belly- I didn't have any symptoms this week! It felt good to have some energy back :) I am really starting to get sick of having to go to the bathroom so much. I feel like it comes out of nowhere, too! All of the sudden it hits me and I need to find a bathroom asap. Liam loves to push down on my bladder so it doesn't make it easy for me sitting at a desk all day. I feel like I'm playing musical chairs all by myself. Up and down and up and down, walking back and forth to the bathroom all day.

Maternity Clothes?
Same as last time- I still fit in my regular clothes except for some pants but the bellyband helps me out in that department :) I still love my maternity workpants though! Those things are heavenly to wear at work. I seriously feel like I'm showing up in pajama bottoms because of their lack of restriction on my waistline haha I love it!

Weight Gain?
At my last doctor's appointment I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I feel like my stomach has doubled in size since then so I've definitely put on a couple more "lbs". The baby alone weighs about 2 pounds now!!! We don't have a scale in our home so I have to wait to find out the actual numbers at my next doctors appointment.

Doctors Appt?
Our next doctor's appointment is scheduled for Friday. I'm excited to go in and hear his heartbeat again. I guess we're to the point in the pregnancy now that we don't need ultrasounds everytime :( The doctor measures my stomach and checks the heartbeat. This next appointment is when I have to do the gestational diabetes testing. I'm not too excited about it. I hate getting my blood drawn so hopefully I pass the first round with flying colors and I don't have to do further testing.

Nursery Prep?
I'm putting on the final touches!!! :) All I have left to do is finish his flag banner and put up some frames. I'm planning on getting the frames at IKEA when I'm up in salt lake for the baby shower so it's going to be a while before the nursery is TOTALLY finished. I feel really good about the progress that we've made though :)

Books/Classes?
Nope. Should I be reading more books or taking classes to prepare me for what is to come? I just don't know. I start to look into reading material and then I just get too overwhelmed. There are so many opinions out there on how to take care of a newborn but it honestly just stresses me out reading all these opinions. All you moms out there... do you suggest any must reads or classes that I should take? I'm very naive about this whole thing haha

Movement?
All day long, baby!!! To me- they feel like small muscle cramps whenever he kicks me. It gets kind of annoying while I'm at work but I still love the constant reminder that he is alive and well in there :) It's crazy to see my stomach move when he kicks. He's getting so much stronger now so it's fun that Neal can feel him everyday. The only time I can really tell that he's sleeping is while I dance. I think the bouncing just rocks him to sleep. As soon as I'm finished he's up and moving around again. He must take a nap during all my practices haha

  1. Just a little tip I learned on the diabetes test... I take a straw (I hate drinking carbonation!) and then I can sip it. I take a book too to keep my mind off the fact I am drinking when I hate. Then it is over soon. Good luck! It's fun to see your cute belly!
