Temple Night

Last night Neal and I went to the St. George temple to do a session. We hadn't been for a couple of weeks so I was so anxious to get in there and continue the work for our family. Ever since we've been married, Neal and I have been able to do a lot of work for our family on the other side. It has been such a blessing!

As we pulled up to the temple and got our bags out of the trunk, I double checked to make sure we had our family's information cards. The cards weren't in the usual pocket I put them in so I checked the cars glovebox.... Nothing. I started frantically searching for the cards because I knew I never took them out of the car. I felt horrible that I couldn't find them! I knew that my family has already been waiting for such a long time for their work to be done and now I'm prolonging it even more because I can't find the cards. Immediately after that thought came into my head I had an overwhelming feeling that we were supposed to do someone else's work today.

I got out of the car and explained to Neal that it just wasn't their day to get their work done. I knew that it was someone else's time to have their work completed and my family would just have to patiently wait. We felt peace with that decision and proceeded to walk towards the temple entrance.

As we approached the temple doors there was a man standing outside who looked like he was waiting for someone. As soon as we made eye contact he came straight over to us and asked if we could do him a favor. "Are you going to do an endowment session tonight?" Yes, the 6:00 session. "Would you be willing to do these two names? I need help with their work."

I wanted to wrap my arms around this man! I could not believe that he was really asking us to do the work or this couple. Through my tears I explained to him what just happened back at the car. I knew that without a doubt that we were supposed to do the work for these people! We were all in shock... well, maybe not him as much, he just needed someone willing to help. But Neal and I both knew that it was Heavenly Father's will that we were supposed to help that couple that night.
The session was amazing and we both had some very special moments :) As soon as we got back into the car I started putting away all the papers I frantically threw around in hopes of finding my family's paperwork. Sure enough- as I stuffed the last papers into the glovebox my family's names and paperwork fell out and onto my lap. It was another confirmation to me that they are anxiously awaiting their work to be finished, but they were patient enough to let two other people cut ahead of them in line :)
