Talent Show

Meet Emily, my star gangster on my mini hip hop team. Monday, she tried out for her talent show. I got to leave work a little early to go watch her tryout. She had to perform her solo in front of the kindergarden and 1st graders. There were about twenty students that performed talents, they were going to choose 3 students to perform in the final round at the school's Talent Show this friday!

My sweet lil' Emily was 6th in line. Before she went, I had my fair share of watching lip synching to High School Musical, and everyone's rendition of Mary Had a Little Lamb. I about had a "bf" when the kid in front of her went WAY over the 2 minute mark. His "talent" was changing a transformer into an action figure. His mom got on stage with him to do his introduction....."Ok..um.. my son is amazingly talented and he can transform any transformer into the new character. I bought this yesterday and Michael has NEVER seen it... see look- it's not even opened yet! So... um... I'm going to open it now and give it to him, and then he's going to transform it right before your eyes... " Ok... really lady? I think any 7 year old boy obsessed with Transformers can do what your son is about to do. Nevertheless- we had to watch Michael attempt to transform his Transformer for the next 11 minutes. Hi did it, and we finally got to clap and his mom finally got off stage.

Emily was up next and did a great job! She was adorable! It's "Bad" from Michael Jackson and she totally rocked it... moonwalk and everything. Good news!!! She, along with two others, were picked to perform in front of all the older kids on friday. I am so proud of her! It made me so happy to see how excited she was... this is a big deal for her and I LOVE being her teacher :) holla.
